Everyone’s in a Festive Mood
Our town is celebrating it’s annual fiesta tomorrow and everyone is just in a festive mood. Thankfully, my little boys have survived the noisy nights of revelry and merriment in the town plaza. Since yesterday, pigs have been squealing in pain, tied up and ready to be roasted, our neighbors have also been chopping off meats and vegetables, and the aroma of sauteed spices just fills the air. Yesterday, I went to the market to buy lunch and the place was jostling with activities. Vendors of all sorts of things have spread open their mats and displayed their items. Folks and relatives have already arrived to celebrate with their families and loved ones. The stores have doubled up their stocks and piles and piles of colas are ready to be sold and distributed. At the terminal, buses and jeepneys bound for the city are filling up fast since many consumers are off to the big grocery stores to purchase things needed for the preparation and the fiesta itself. The town is just in a merry mood.
But it’s the opposite in our household. We have not prepped anything for tomorrow. Hubby and I decided not to have one this year, we are really in a very tight budget, so we will just spend the day tomorrow in my MIL’s house and share lunch together. We are still in a happy and merry mood despite not having to celebrate, my boys are all fine and healthy, and that’s what’s important.

I hope your fiesta went well. Yup, as long as everyone in the family is happy and healthy, that’s reason to celebrate

I think it is actually a practical idea not to “celebrate” it,just because everybody is doing it,it doesn’t mean you have too.You can still enjoy the festivities without hurting your pocket.

There are a lot of hustle and bustle during these festivals and also a lot of pollution produces.
